DMPA + DMA RESPOND TO COVID19

As a response to the disruption that COVID19 has brought, the DMPA and Dundee Merchant’s Association (DMA) are working together to help support our community as best we can. With restaurants and other retailers’ doors closed we know that many Dundee employees are facing financial insecurity. To give you an idea, our beloved Marks Restaurant had to let go of 40 employees. We believe that Dundee is one of the most generous communities in the Omaha area. Therefore, with our good friends at Dundee Bank, we have set up a relief fund to help the employees of Dundee merchants during this time.

We will be spreading the message to get as many donations from private donors and members of the Merchant’s Association as possible.

How it works: Employers within the Dundee Business District will send a list of affected current or past employees to the DMA. The DMA has designed the program so that eligible employees will receive $100 every two weeks in the form of a check. Employers will be responsible for picking up the checks at AB’s Gas Station on 50th & Underwood. It is our intention to keep this program going for the duration of the crisis, with an expectation of at least two months. We do hope that when we recover from this crisis, many of these former employees will once again be a part of the Dundee business community. As of March 24th, we have 97 individual names from six businesses that qualify.

I can not tell you how thankful I am to be a part of this community. Please love and support each other as best you can.
